Sandton Junior and High School, Bryanston

74 Shepherd, Bryanston, Sandton, 2191.

Dedicated to education

We are dedicated and passionate about learner diversity and the education of our learners.

Sandton Junior School was started due to a need for new schools in Bryanston. No new government schools had been opened in the area for over 30 years, and there was a demand for smaller schools where children are treated equally, class sizes are small and learners receive individual attention from dedicated teachers.

Sandton Junior School has a state-of-the-art building and is situated in the leafy suburb of Bryanston. The school was designed to enhance every learner’s learning experience and was purposefully built to this end.

We started our high school in 2018 and now cater for all learners from Grade 8, to grade 12 (High School).

We make use of the CAPS curriculum, focusing on preparing learners for IEB examinations. We offer small classes, so each child receives individual attention. We promote inclusivity and welcome all children to Sandton Junior and High School.

BOARDING SCHOOL

Sandton Group of Schools Boarding, launched in January 2020 and present pupils with an opportunity to interact more closely with the primary aim of our schools, to encourage each learner to be a self-confident, inquiring, tolerant, positive, well-rounded person with an independent mind.

A balanced programme of rigorous academics, sport, and cultural activities incorporated into daily boarding life will enable learners to discover and expand their own talents in a personal and diverse environment.

Courage, trust, humility, perseverance, community and life-long learning are the underpinning values of the school and the boarding house.

Our boarding facilities consist of two wings, one for boys and girls respectively. Each wing comprises sharing and single rooms which are assigned according to grades. The girls’ rooms are equipped with en suite bathrooms and the boys share communal facilities. The modern common rooms are shared by boys and girls under supervision.

These include a recreation room with a pool table, foosball table, PlayStation, Flat screen television and age appropriate board games. They also offer a TV room and the study room where pupils will do their homework during study times.
